WELCOME to our June newsletter.
A new season begins as we wave goodbye to the past season. The new season while being exciting will alsobe challenging but as always Newlands will rise to the challenge and once again make it a successful andrewarding time.
TEAMS
We will continue to grow in the number of teams we have this season. Our growth is enormous. We haveentered 19 teams (possibly 20) in the junior competition this season, last season we had 16. Our ladies andmen’s team start playing on Tuesday nights and another part of Newlands history is being created. I would liketo wish all our teams’ success and excitement for the new season.

Under 8s currently have 12 players but weare hoping few some more so we can have 2 teams. Invite your friends along to training. Let’s continue to sharethe excitement, our game and club with others. We are also looking for recruiting ideas.

Our coaching staff except is nearly settled. Under 16 boys Titans still require a coach. If you know of someoneprepared to volunteer to help please see me. Greg (Grizzlies assistant coach) and myself are currently sharingthe position while looking for a coach who can fully commit to the team.
We are looking for a Group Co-ordinator for our young teams and some Team Managers are also still required;see Liz or myself if you can assist. We are also looking for scorers and committee persons.
SAUSAGE SIZZLE
All the wonderful things that happen around our club would not be possible withoutfundraising. We are looking for someone to co-ordinate our fundraising activities. Ifyou can assist in this area please see Liz or myself.
Our next fundraising activity is a sausage sizzle at Masters Hardware in Preston onthe Saturday the 22nd of June. We will require you to assist as it is on a Saturdayand most of our normal volunteer workers will be required to coach or teammanage on the day. Don’t wait to be asked see Liz or me early; I am sure that
over the last few months you have seen the benefits of these activities. It is all for our children that we continueto work hard. Your assistance would be appreciated.
GRANT
We recently applied for a community grant with the Satterley Property Management who are the new CoburgHill Estate developers on the old Kodak site in Elizabeth St. We asked for and received money to purchasesome more white alternative tops. Please join me in thanking them for their generous gift. I know that you willall see the benefits of the tops.
