MISSION STATEMENT

The Newlands Basketball Club aim to actively engage and involve our local community in the benefits of participating, supporting and enjoying all aspects of basketball.

 

Our mission is to provide opportunities for everyone to experience the excitement and joy of the game.

We will teach skills associated with our sport, teach our members to be team players and provide training and games at safe and healthy venues.

 

 

The photo shows 3 of our original members on our first birthday.

Jordan, Madeline and Rebecca have changed and grown a lot.

The opportunities that Newlands has provided for them (as per our mission statement) are enormous.

Their roles have and currently include (but not limited to):

Jordan - Player, referee, coach, Coburg Giants junior representative player

Maddie - Player, coach, team manager, junior committee representative

Rebecca - Player, coach, team manager junior committee representative

 

Their involvement and efforts have been and still are amazing. Well done guys, you should feel special because you are. We are very proud of you.

 

It is fantastic that we still have these 3 involved after 10 years.

We will continue to provide opportunities for all of our community to become involved in this wonderful game of basketball.

CBA Administrator's update

Subject: Score sheets

"The team on top of score sheet is to do the score box only 

Team on the bottom to do the score sheet.
there have been too many complaints that the same people are doing the sheet each week

We need to encourage others  to learn"

 

Wilton's words

I have witnessed some ugly incidents between the scorers at some game.  Accusations of cheating and such.  My thoughts "are we playing for sheep stations, these situations must be awfully uncomfortable for the kids.'

 

Please remember that as much as your volunteering and best intentions are great, we need to make sure their our behaviour matches your best intentions.

 

 

Hi Team

No games this Saturday the 10th or training on Monday 12th due to the public holiday.

There is training this week as usual.
